I've seen some effects built with enclosures that look completely square, opposed to the Hammond boxes that have slight slopes on the edges.  Does anyone have a source for non-sloped metal (preferably aluminum) boxes?  Thanks.

I like my RACO's for super cheep. You have to glue the punchouts with JB weld or really good epoxy for drilling. They're super solid and square.
Those RS Boxes...I have a few, but I lowered the top, cut them down to flatter looking. I dont like they are so light the cable tip's 'em over/other things about them like the way they screw together, and the sides bend the paint off when opening/closing them. They're kinda cool, and shielded, drill like butter, but the RACO's are more to my liking.

A friend of mine is looking into having some "Boss shape" pedals made up.
de-cast with the same removable botom plate.
Top would have the "slope" but not the large foor pad/switch, so you can
wire with a DPDT etc
He's aiming for about 1cm wider 1cm higher and 2 cm longer, just for a bit more room.
I'll let everyone know if it comes to anything ..

I have something similar to the flowerpot crucible furnace!! but have yet to make any effects enclosures just a few odds and ends. I use the lostfoam method (search google) using expanded foam, a resistance wire foam saw and a hot glue gun. U can make em nearly any shape you wont. A warning though molten metal can be just as dangerous as mains AC.

I bought a couple, the PITA is that that it has the bottom connected to the sides, so
your jacks and pots are on two separate surfaces ... crap for using a battery when
you need to 'get in" the thing !! but fine for PSU only ...
Hopefully, these will be "Boss" shape, bigger and have a "normal" bottom plate  :D
To be honest, they will look more like Ibanez "8" series boxes .... :D

Ok, true. Unless you drill a battery hatch.
