question about gain control in opamps

ok i have most of the parts to breadboard a opamp based od like the ts or liquid drive sd-1 etc...i dont have any pots left though..

so if i wanted to omit the drive control and have it full on  for experimentation on this style circuit, would i just leave out the pot? subsitute a resistor for the pot?   how does this work?  this is my first time messing with opamps so go easy on me!

If you want it fixed at full gain, replace the pot with a resistor of the same value. Larger resistors will reduce the negative feedback (increase gain).
