Condor cab sim; how to use it?

OK, I have a little question:

how do you use a cab sim (as in the ROG's Condor Cab sim)? Do you add it to the end of your effects and plug it into a mixer or can you "beefen up" a direct signal (from a direct out on an amp)? I read a lot of posts but I was not sure how they used theirs.....

You can use it both ways. See what you like best, and if it suits your tastes.

OK, thanks!

Is the FET needed when using a direct signal?? It tends to distort

The idea of the FET was to simulate the saturation characteristic of the speaker and add up some gain to compensate for the insertion loss of the bridged-tee notch filter. FETs don't saturate as gently as the speaker, so in this case you can try one of the following alternatives:

1) Use minimum GAIN (if distortion/coloration is acceptable)
2) Disconnect the FET and apply a line input directly at the first 47n capacitor. Overall level will be less than unity, though, which you can compensate by making U1:A to amplify adding feedback resistors between OUT and -IN and -IN and VREF, if really needed.

Regards.

Ah thanks.

I tried the second options as no distortion is needed in some parts, and it works like a charm. I use the mixing board and the guitar amp to compensate for the loss.
