Well, its sounds like it isn´t a wery good idea..

But what´s the best thing to do?

Wich tubebased stompbox is the best to modificate for bass?

Not everyone likes the same things. So, my suggestions might not appeal to you.

But, I've read good reports about how the Shaka Tube sounds on guitar, and it can be powered (safely) with a 12VAC wall wart.

So, that might be a good candidate to modify for bass. You might start by increasing the values of C1, C4, C6, C8 from 0.01uF to 1.0uF or 10uF or something in between, maybe. You might want to try larger values for C9, too. Or, try a different tone stack on the output. Or, leave out the tone control. Or... ?

Anyone ever tried any mods (especially for bass) with the Shaka Tube?

How about an 18VAC wall wart instead of 12VAC?
Or, maybe a different tube, 12AU7, 12AV7, 5751... others?
And use the other half of that TL072 in parallel, for clean blend?

Hey! I might have to try some of this stuff out for myself, if I get some free time. :icon_mrgreen:
