i searched, but didn't find what i was looking for.  i have a pretty cheap sabine st1100 autotuner, and i want to build something like it.  it has an 12 leds (1 for each note), then 3 more for tuning each note (pretty standard layout for stage tuners).  i'm trying to figure out why something like this would be so hard to build.    i see an intel chip, an ec120, and an a4001b.  some, if not all of these, i'm guessing will be where problems arise.  if nothing else, i can just mod this to fit my needs.  if anyone has anything else, please discuss!

it's a lot like this:

you've certainly been tackling the difficult builds
what exactly do you want in your diy tuner than this one doesnt already offer?

not to patronise or discourage, but perhaps a rehousing might be a simpler sollution? with bypass/mute switching and all of that?

i would post a picture of the inside, but no camera.  i tried scanning it, but it didn't work.

a couple things that it has that i don't need and may simplify the to-be project:
1. an on/off switch.  i would make the input jack disconnect the battery type mod.
2.  calibrate switch.  i never use it.
3.  the internal mic.  never use it either.

i wouldn't mind the re-housing option.

i'll share my ultimate goal soon.

well,  good luck with whatever path you decide to take!
