I downloaded an evaluation version of this software in order to ease myself into the recording world of the 21st century. I loaded up a backing track from one of my UB Hank Cds - Apache actually, so far so good. I saw a button labelled Effect, they are divided into various categories so I selected Delay and chose flanger. It didn't take much clicking and dragging sliders to get my head swimming in TZF!!

If you do a search under my username and TZF, a bunch of clips I made using Adobe Audition will come up.  Syntrillium (Cool Edit maker) was bought out by Adobe and Cool Edit was subsequently renamed.  Still, a damned nice piece of software :)

Don't even dare touch the multi-tap delay function unless you have a couple of hours to burn.  Seriously!

Ah, I'll need the multi tap delay for Hank Marvining!

the "Marvinator" (or rather: "Hanker", or: "Super Hank-On" ?) would be a nice stompbox idea...

i can remember a couple of years ago H*ughes & K*ttner made an (insider) advertisement for a "MOTOWNIZER" for vocalists (19" gear).
It would be able to make any singer sound black,
with presets like "T*mptations", "J*ckson Five"...
they launched that ad on an april 1st...

(and got a huge feedback from interested singers/producers)  :icon_razz:

Does anyone have the hack to convert the evaluation copy of Cool Edit Pro into the full version?

As a sidenote:

there is an open-source equivalent of CoolEdit by the name of Audacity.
Works pretty well and I haven't found any major differences with CoolEdit (during limited use) so far.
I use Audacity at work so I don't have to work with hacked software...

StephenGiles

The snag with Audacity is that effects cannot be applied in real time. Apart from that it looks to be very usefull. Thanks.
