Hey Everyone!

I have a 535Q sitting at home that's just aching to get modified.

I've seen something about putting in a 1K pot by a transformer, and I've read on some of the buffer/true bypass stuff. Also something about a "fasel". Any info + some before/after comparisons would be great.

Thanks!

A very simple mod is to replace the stock inductor with a Fasel inductor. If I had a schematic to look at, maybe I could suggest some more things that could be done...

In what way does adding a fasel change the sound ? (I've never heard of one before)

The Fasel is just an inductor made by a comany of the same name. It can improve the quality of the way the wah sounds. This is a very subjective thing, of course.

OIC,
Know of anywhere that has any samples or anything like that of a before/after ?

Didin't it just pop up over here that the fasels apparently differ a lot in value? That would mean each one would have a different impact on the sound.
I'd say play with the tone cap and some other stuff (trannies and gains, f'rinstance) first - a lot cheaper and with possibly more overall impact.
The inductor does have some impact on the sound (aside from it's value-related change of basic sweep) but it's really small and not even noticed by many. If the Fasels indeed vary a lot in value and you don't tune the rest of the circuit to get more or less the same sweep back, you might be terribly disappointed.

All good points, Mike. Also, you could read this thread, lot's of info there.  :icon_cool:
