I heard LeonHendrix mention that he bought 15 1590B sized Evatron enclosures off ebay UK for a great price. He also sent me through a couple of enclosures when he did a giveaway in the fS/T forum.  So I went looking and came across the same deal. I ordered them, 19.50 for 15 enclosures.


I ran out of enclosures and emailed the guy to get more, this was his response.

We can supply goods EVA60 on regular basis.
Price will be 1.25 each PLUS VAT.
Carriage and packing is charged at 10.75 up to 20 kilos. You can ring us on 01908 675121 to plce your order and we can process it using a credit card.

The dimensions of the enclosures are   length 114 x width 64 x height 30mm

Without ribs though, and they are really shiny. Almost a chrome finish. The corners arent rounded like hammonds so you can get slightly more in there. One problem, the enclosure is 1-2mm too shallow for some batteries I have tried, there seems to be manufacturing differences in PP3 batteries. Some fit snugly where others are 1mm too wide.

Just thought you UK Diyers would like to know.

I have no idea, but the enclosures are fine. It seems the guy does work for evatron, as he has an evatron.com email address.

I bought 15 of those off ebay and they are seconds (B-stock). The plating is not brilliant, there are casting marks , and some black stuff on the inside surface of a couple. I have seen the A1 grade at Canford Audio near me and the finish is perfectly shiny, no casting marks, but cost 5 times as much as the ebay deal.

The ebay (or direct) B grade are perfectly good for stompboxes but need a little sanding work at times.
