smokey-type amp question

Well, I had posted an earlier question/idea about making a small amp like a smokey/ruby that would power a tiny home stereo cabinet, but I don't think it posted properly.  If it shows back up, I apologize in advance.

But, I think I've been able to refine my question.  How would I be able to make a smokey amp whereby the speaker is on if there is no output jack engaged, and when the output jack goes into a cabinet, the onboard speaker shuts off?

What you need is a switching jack.  No plug inserted the internal speaker is connected.  Insert a jack and the internal speaker is disconnected.  I prefer to use the plastic/enclosed type made by Neutrik or Rean, but I think Switchcraft make a switching jack as well.
