i just got one of these a month or so ago, it's supposed to function as a volume pedal and an expression pedal, depending on how you set it up

no matter what i do, i can't get it to function as an expression pedal

i'm using a Roland VGA 5, which has a wah effect that is supposed to be compatible with an expression pedal

i've emailed the company aswell, we'll see how much good that does, heh

All "expression" and so-called "CV" pedals differ.
Some are designed to work only with specific equipment.
In the case of the FCV100, when you put the mode switch to CV, you will find that output 2 (yes, output 2!!) gives you a mono socket with a pot connected across it, to give a variable resistance from 0 to 50K. Yes, I just remeasured it!.

Roland stuff will naturally be designed to work only with the EV-5 (E here stands for Expensive, not Expression).

how to make your own EV-5:
" From: sustainiac_93401 at yahoo.com
      1) Take an old pedal - install 10k Linear POT on the treadle.
      2) Hardwire a cable which terminates in a 1/4" TRS (stereo)phone plug.
      3) Connect the Pot Wiper to the Phoneplug tip.
      4) Connect upper solder tab on Pot to the phoneplug ring.
      5) Connect lower solder tab on pot to the phoneplug sleeve."

So you can see that you have not only the 'wrong' pot, but the 'wrong' wiring as well.
