This may sound odd, (apologies if it does). but does anyone leave a pcb that has been potted in a potting box still in the box when finished? Or do you take it out of the box when it's set? (I would have thought this is the norm). If so, what can I do you use to stop the potting compound setting against the walls of the box? Grease? that kind of thing, so it's easy to tap out.

Cheers.

I have potted pcbs for alarm systems that are exposed to the elements. We used to use a special (read expensive) release agent to spray on the box insides before use, much like they use on fibreglass moulds and formers. Im not sure any old grease would work, depends on the potting compound.
