Now THAT's funny, because I remember seeing the 1976 article (green Jim Messina cover, or was that the phase shifter project?) and built both that one and the EPFM one later on, and I appear to have reliably missed that tidbit for damn near 30 years now!  :icon_lol:  I guess it turns out my 30 years of blind testing experiences corroborated the assertions of the author.

The EQ at ROG is based on the 4049 and I'm thinking that driving the **** out of it (check out the 3 legged Dog) might produce some good stuff.  The EQ part of it would allow for some serious tone shaping.   :icon_eek:

The EQ uses 4 stages leaving 2 for distortion, Hmmm.   :icon_twisted:
