need help with wah wah low volume

i bought a dearmond weeper wah on ebay.previous owner said it did not work so i took a chance and bought it.
reason it wouldn't work was the felt on top of the on/off switch was worn.
now it works but the volume is alot lower when i switch it on.

From the information I have been given, that's basically a CryBaby copy as far as the circuit goes. Perhaps there is a wire that is hangin' on by just a thread, or possibly one of the transistors might be damaged. I think that an audio probe would be helpful in this case.

EDIT: Also, there might be a bad solder joint, cracked resistor or possibly something is partially shorted out on the PCB (barely touching the metal case).
