Does anyone know if there is a volume pedal that you can use to pan between two amps, besides the Ernie Ball monster? I have two amps a Marshall JCM 800 for dirty and a Fender Super Reverb for clean. I have an AB Y switch I have been using but I just hate how abrupt the change from dirty to clean is. I would love a volume like pedal where one way is clean and one way is dirty with the middle being both. Just wondering if there is an alternative to spending $125 on the Ernie Ball with the weird little toggle?

There's a very good article on panning theory at Geofex.com with schematics.  You could easily make something like that into a Cry Baby shell.  I don't know if the taper of the cry baby's 100k pot is that far from a linear taper pot, but that could be an issue, though.

Theres also another Geofex article on current controlled amplifiers, including a current controlled panner.  If someone had the chops they could incorperate that into an AB switch that had two buttons, one for a fast switch between channels, and one for a slow crossfade between channels.
