After a few curcuits not making it past the wired-up perfboard stage, and a few more breadboard experiments, I finally have a finished (almost) project to share. It is a slightly modified version of Home-Wrecker's "Nurse Quacky". I changed the .01uf cap that lessens the bass sensitivity of the E.F. to a .02uf. Also, instead of an attack pot I used Mark Hammers suggestion of using a switch to change total capacitance and/or resistance as shown here http://hammer.ampage.org/. I used a spdt on-off-on to allow 3 combinations, each of them makink a notable difference from fast to slow and being very interactive with the range and sens. controls. For a range control I used a 50k linear pot. with 6.8 and 8.2 ohm resistors accross lugs 1-2 and 2-3 respectively. This makes the range very usable and was also a Mark Hammer suggestion. The enclosure is a cheap Radio Shack box that I cut down and reshaped. A 3pdt (from Aron) true by-pass with a green LED. Thanks to everyone on the forum for your help!!!  sory no soundclips

Well done! It must be a huge sense of relief to get something to work. I like your mod to the box.  :D ;D

It's interesting to see a first build that is a nurse quacky clone. Did you find it any more difficult than previous attempts?

But more importantly, how does it sound? I know you can't put any clips up, but to yo, how does it sound? That's one of the great things about DIY; even if it doesnt suit you at first, you can easily mod it without worrying about breaking some warranty.

Thanks for the positive replies! I actually used the cheap box to get used to the layout and drilling , without ruining a 8 dollar Hammond. I couldn't leave it big and boxey so I got more practice modding enclosures to make it look decent.
As far as liking the way it sounds I am very pleased. The sweep is not as radical as the full sroke of a wah pedal but it adds great flavor to both rhythm and lead lines most anywhere on the neck. Now i will definately obtain some better enclosures to box up some waiting boards. Frank Clarke's "Hot Harmonics" is next. It sounds awesome but is too fragile without an enclosure. I did "Nurse Quacky" first because E.F.F.'s are very interesting too me. Thanks again and Peace!

Oh, the build was not difficult at all thanks to the article at home-wrecker.com

Nice job preserving the flatness of the top during the bending process !!!
These RS boxes are just a little too tall IMO too, with snips and a litte finesse...just right !!
  Nice angle Box !!!
