As the subject states- first build no go  :icon_cry:

It's a bit late to start checking all my components are correct and list voltages across IC's - It's time for a G&T before bed  ;)

If anyone has any off-the-top-of-my-head ideas I'm all ears.

Otherwise my philosophical approach is that I'm about to learn a whole lot about debugging on my first build, not discouragement. I'll follow-up tomorrow with more

I did check for solder bridges and my flux-filled tired eyes didn't see any :icon_wink:

Cheers!

Looks like I'm getting 9v across the entire circuit so my suspect is the 5V regulator. Three questions:

1. Will it fry the PT2399?

2. Am I measuring it correctly the negative lead of my meter on the black wire of the battery clip, rec lead placed where I am measuring voltage

3. The 5V regulator is a Motorola 7805 BT - Looking at the data sheet I got from all data sheets I am 99% sure I connected it correctly. If it was backwards would that give me 0V everywhere or 9V everywhere?

Cheers!
