Hi everyone,

I usually make my prototypes on breadboard, and when I like a pedal I usually get the ready to transfer pcb layout from someone else and ask a local store to do it (very high quality, and already drilled) - I just have to solder the components and wire the pots switches and so on...
I recently prototyped a JFet Vulcan and I would like to put it in a box.

Does anyone has the JFet Vulcan PCB?

Sorry about asking for this but I can´t use eagle yet and I have very little knowledge about this subject (and i have so little free time - wich in fact is running out because of this damn adiction!!!... :)

Thanks in advance,

ok, i found Gringo´s pcb layouts for joe's designs... since the schematic from the jfet version is almost the same from the 2n5089 (only component values change) I'll use it... Hope the pinouts are the same!

Thank you

I think you are going to have to twist the jfets legs if you plan on using my layout. Remember that the jfets usually have the gate in one of the sides, while the 2n5089/bc549 transistors have the base in the middle pin.

I'll eventually add a layout for the jfet vulcan, just don't stop your builds for me, it mught take a while :icon_exclaim:
Cut it large, and smash it into place with a hammer.

This thing sounds beautifully!

I removed the 1u Cap in the last gain stage and used 2n5457(coudn´t get j201's in here and I needed to build it fast!). This makes it a less nervous animal. In low gain settings it gets a great tone, for my taste, offcourse.

But there´s a con: this is really noisy. I didn´t boxed it yet. Is it normal or should you recomend special atention to a certain part or recomend a mod?

Thanks in advance,

Nuno Caldeira
