Hello,
Built a npn fuzzface from Jack Ormans site...It sounds really good. But the sound is huge! I'm playing it with a '79 Les Paul Custom and wondering if this maybe why. It's thick and cool. But I wanted to figure out a way to tame it. Not sure if this makes sense. It's not a versatile as It should be..it goes from mildly fuzzy to like Empire State building sized fuzz...wondering if that's the sound. I'm new to building and have never played a fuzzface before so this might be just what it does. gonna add a tone tonight and see if that gives me more of a shaping sound. I wish I could post soundclips of what I got, maybe I got it right. Does that description sound right? hfe and biases are all cool...70 on q1 130 on q2..q1 is a germanium npn and it slips out of bias after about an hour but I used trims so I just tweak it back by ear.
any help appreciated,
Brian

I didn t build that fuzz but a pre gain like in the "easy face" by J Gagan

and/or lower gain transistors might tame it a bit.

For me ,if it sounds like crunchy"LaGrange"by ZZTop ,I like it :D
