Mosfet Booster 5k or 10k pot?

I've been wanting to (get around to) build the AMZ Mosfet Boost. On the schematic it shows a 5k pot for the volume control, but I've seen a 10k sub'd in here (Torchy's layout). What would be better about putting a 10k in there over a 5k pot?

It would increase the available gain a bit. It'll work fine either way.
