Well guys, I started building what I hope to be a great Overdrive.  I have somewhat built the circuit before but just couldn't stop tweaking so the first one was boxed and all the ideas I had were jotted down.   Everything is wired up and it works, ( after I figured out that I forgot to ground pin 4 of the IC.)  It needs a little tweaking in the tone controls but I suspect by this weekend it will be boxed.

The meat of the circuit started as a tube reamer.  I upped the gain with a 1M resistor, used a red led and two 1n4148'a for clipping. changed the input, output caps to  .47 and 1.0, put a big muff tone stack, (which needs some tweaking) and a jfet output section. (homage to shakah)  It has a decent amount of gain., enought for hard rock (a metal zone it's not).  I will keep you posted as I put the finishing touches on it.

Once it's done I will get a proper schematic drawn up so y'all can give it a whirl.

Sounds cool! Another great pedal was one that Jack built with a Tube screamer front end and a Big Muff output section I believe. Great pedal.
