Hi just whipped this circuit together,
http://aronnelson.com/gallery/album17/DRAGONFLY_OLD_SCHOOL_FUZZ

Mods: 1N34A and 1N4001 replaced with 2 LEDS.

Well this circuit was relatively easy to build and didn't take too long once I stopped burning myself with the soldering iron  :icon_redface: (got a nice scar now)

The fuzz is a little too harsh for my liking so I will try some other diodes to find a sound thats right for me but until I finish that I'll just turn the guitar volume down a bit.

But it really is a fantastic circuit for a beginner like me.

A bit embarrassing to be bumping this but I've replaced the LEDs with a couple of 1N914 (all I've got lying around at the moment) still producing a harsh fuzz but it's nicer sounding than before.

I've found that it's great for soloing but not so good for chords, so I think I'll have to build another pedal  ;D

I'll post some picture once I've got it boxed.

I think my next projects will be a treble booster, tremolo and another distorsion.

Hi.
If you like this, you'll probably also like the EasyDrive.
The Bass Fuzz (with an MPSA13) is another simple one, but it has some beaut synth-like overtones.
And eventually you'll want to make a fuzz face (either the original or the axis fuzz).
have fun
