Anyone here use flashing LEDs for their pedals?  More importantly, does anyone use a regular LED with a flashing LED circuit?  I'd like to have a flashing LED that uses 5-10mA...any ideas?

I remenber once that I moded my Xbox and I used one flashing LED to light up the green jewel on the center top of the case. A flashing LED is going to be your best choice. I think a circuit to flash your led is going to have a greater power consumption. I got mine at RadioShack. :D

This is a flashing led circuit http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/projects/flashl.htm

As you can see it's really unrealiable since you could just put a flashing led in it's place and save a lot space.

see the price for them here http://www.elexp.com/opt_6bid.htm

I've read of flashing LEDs taking 90mA, and of a transistor flashing LED setup taking 10 or so.

Lots of beginner stuff on this site (eg good guide to led types) as well.

The multi-color RGB LED is spec'd at 90ma maximum but it will run on less...  even so, it takes much more than a normal LED.

The single color flashing LEDs will operate on much less current...  the big problem is that they often introduce noise glitches into the audio line if the power is not properly filtered.

....I replaced a dead LED in my PH2 with a 3mm RGB flashing one-it hasn't introduced any noise into the pedal at all whether I use a battery or PSA adaptor....
