I got my Boutique Fuzz working and what a great fuzz it is.  Very warm and fuzzy.  It sounds like the Stooges' I wanna be your dog.  :D  Much smoother than my Vex Fuzz Factory or DIY Fuzz Face.

I had more problems with this build than any previous build.  Everything from bad soldering to components in the wrong place.  Geez.  What a mess.

My main problem was with multi core wire I couldn't a get good enough connection to the vero board.  I replaced it all with single core and I'm in fuzz heaven.

So if you're thinking of building a Boutique fuzz, the diagram above works and sounds well fuzzy.

great!
but you got me curious:
Quotemulti core wire I couldn't a get good enough connection to the vero board
you mean you had a hard time soldering it or you noticed any problem with the sound/audio signal?

I'm very bad at this, but usually I tin the wire tips before connecting them to the vero, so they become "solid"...

My problem with the multi core wire was due to not getting a good connection to the vero.  I'm terrible at soldering and didn't think to tin the wires as I normally use single core.  Doh.

If I wiggled the wires round it would work.  Wiggle them again at it would stop working.  I unsoldered all the wires and replaced with single core and it worked fine.

Thanks for reminding me to tin those wires from now on.    :icon_biggrin:
