Getting the Boss DS-1 'sounds'

Ive heard a few people say that their Boss DS-1 does not sound like the clips.
Neither did mine, it just sounded weak and unpleasant.
Solution: The Boss DS-1 needs boosting.
This may be because the pickups on my guitar arent as powerfull as other peoples, but using a AMZ Mosffet booster fixed it up and gave me the good sounds Melanhead got out of his on his sound clips (I did the mods too). Oh, and alter the tone control for non-trebley-ness.
Just thought Id share my enlightenment.

Weird ... must be the output, I didn't use a boost at all for the soundclips I did, but then again you'd have to use my modded boogie to get that tone

Nah, I think its my pickups. I think their too weak to drive this particular pedal, so I had to boost the input. Had a similar problem with other pedals.
Anyway, boost or no boost, I struggle to play rock guitar like you!

Practice, Practice, Practice ... I've been playing for 23 years ...

Could be the pups  ... I did my clips with a Dimarzio ToneZone humbucker ....
