So I'm looking for a very vocal type wah, thats has good midrange and doesn't skimp on the "wah" factor like some commercial pedals.  I'm looking for something really ballsey.  Any suggested shematics?

Tonepad has a layout where you have the options of using trimmers for the input and output buffers along with the wah Q.  GGG has a layout which incorporates a rotary switch for adjusting the input caps.  I chose the tonepad layout for my wah and just socketed the input cap and eliminated the input buffer.  For the life of me I hear very little difference in the Q control but I assume it works.  To me, the wah is one of the most frustrating effects to tune.  It has so many components that participate in the tone that you have to be careful not to adjust too many at once.  Component choices will have a large effect too.  I went with a Fulltone pot and inductor.  While I like the inductor, the pot seems to have the most sweep at the very end of its rotation (my experience).  So, I may go back to the original Hotzpotz I or trade someone for a Hotzpotz II.

Getting back to your question, my circuit does seem a bit more similar to vocal Vox type sound compared to the stock Dunlop.
