Hi, I built my rangemaster using a mullard oc44 from smallbear with the specs they suggested and the biasing according to RG keen's method that they sent me. I built it using the schematic and printed circuit board from Generalguitargadgets.com( http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=137&Itemid=151) , and I find that when I crank my amp and don't play a note through my guitar, there is a loud crackling sound from the pedal. I know the original rangemaster circuits were noisy, I heard there were ways to reduce this, could you let me know what you think I should do?
Thanks in advance,
Will

I ran a .001 uf cap from the input of the circuit and it helped.  And yeah, its just a really noisy circuit.

if you haven't already done it: metal film resistors all around and pot with a conductive plastic element. and a 100uF electrolytic accross the supply. connect the pedal to the ground at only one place. hopefully every bit helps.
