Si PNP's?

what are commonly available silicon PNP's? because when i ask for a PNP transistor at my local electronic shop they allways go like "PNP is old germanium stuff we only got some old ac128's here. they don't even look into their huge collection of transistors and i'm sure they've got some somewhere.

this might be a good topic to ask for common NPN Ge's too

Well, there are 2N3906, basically a PNP 3904.  I'm sure there are more but being a newb I don't know what they are.
