were to place sockets for best modify??

like to test my TS-808 vid different components to see how the sound change. (not breadboard, just PCB)

were is the critical places that gives the most changes to the sound of this pedal??
i did socketing the 3 diodes and the 51pF and IC, but there must be some more places ah?

Read R.G.'s "Technology of the Tube Screamer". It not only explains the circuit in great detail, it lists almost all of the mods that boutique builders do on the TS-808. It will give you a great list of places to socket components.

     Socket the .047uF cap and the 4.7k resistor that form the RC filter. These will affect frequency and max. gain. Do read "Tech. of the Tubescreamer" mentioned by dano12 and these articles also:
