Making an EHX Memory Boy brighter

I have a friend who has a problem with the memory boy being too muddy when used too present in the mix, or with too much modulation. He'd like for it to sound a bit brighter. I'm just beginning to get into the world of modding pedals, but from what I have gathered form reading posts around here, this may be as easy as swapping out a capacitor or two? I may be completely wrong, and I'm not going to attempt it unless I'm completely sure it's going to work, but I thought someone here would probably either know how to do this, or tell me that trying to do it is a terrible idea.

The 'dark' tone is to compensate for the clock noise of the BBDs.

The MB uses the tiniest of tiny components, and would not be fun to mod.

If you really want to DIY, build him an Echobase.

i think the ad3208 will be a good replacement and you can put a switch to adjust the brightness.

Is it a Memory Boy or Deluxe Memory Boy? I ask as there's a high pass filter which can be engaged on the DMB for the delays if you're finding them muddy!

It's a standard memory boy, not deluxe.
