Psychtar transformer wiring questions

I have a few 42TM018 transformers to build Tim Escobedo's Psychtar circuit, but I am a bit confused about wiring it up. This is the first time I've used transformers in any circuit.

I was planning on following Torchy's vero layout (not sure if it is verified) but I'm unclear about which legs to solder, what I do with the extra leg and if I should cut the traces between each side of the transformer.

The vero layout is here under Circuit Snippets http://www.indyguitarist.com/torchy/.
The schematic is toward the bottom of this page http://www.geocities.com/tpe123/folkurban/fuzz/snippets.html

The transformers I ordered have 6 legs, but the layout and schematic only show 5. What do I do with the 6th leg? Do I simply forget about it?

The transformers have a "P" printed on one side. Does it matter which way I place the transformer?

The layout doesn't show cut traces between each side of the transformer. Should I cut, and if so, where?

That's a lot of questions, but I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

I asked a similar question a while back so I can answer this.  The P side is the primary side.  I'm not sure if it makes a difference which side goes where since it's 10k on each side but to be safe put the P on the side to the left in the vero layout drawing.  The extra leg you can just clip off as short as possible, it's unused.  Yes, the traces should be cut, otherwise the signal will just bypass the transformer.

Thanks for the help!

I'm off to the bench!
