Is it possible to use pots for bass and treble instead of switches?  If so, is it as simple as a 1-for-1 switch or would more need to be done to the circuit?

Not really.  The circuits are designs to have the boost and cut properties they do at the frequencies they do by grounding the caps.  The 1M resistors shown in the schematic are smply to avoid popping when the cap is grounded.

Thanks Mark,

Is there any particular component to experiment with the amount of boost for each frequency?  Especially the treble and bass..........

powerplayj,

If you haven't already built the Mr. EQ, take a look at the Tone Mender (http://www.runoffgroove.com/tonemender.html). It may just be the ticket.
