Replacing resistor with trim-pot?

Hey y'all

I would like to try replacing a resistor in one of my boss pedals with a trim pot (I want to try and make the volume of my TR-2 Tremolo adjustable). As a resistor has two legs and all of the trim pots I have seen have 3, can anyone give me an idea as to if and how I can do this?  ???

Thanks!

Hook up the middle leg and one of the outer ones for a variable resistor ;)

Perhaps it isn't necessary with a trimpot, but if you use a pot as a replacement it's a good precaution to hookup the 'unused' outer pin to the wiper. This way, if the wiper fails, you won't just have an open-circuit (which will often lead to a 'arrrgh, there's no sound!' situation), instead you'll 'only' have the pot 'max out'.
