After trying ruby which I didn't like (I also built firefly, so for distortion it can't be compared with any solid state small amps) I decided to try little gem mk2. On use would be simple clean amp and second to serve as a power amp for firefly -> line out -> delay -> another amp.
That's why I didn't put anything between pins 1 and 8 on 386s. Also, the only piece of perfboard I had was only 8x15 holes, so it's little overcrowded but nevermind it looks cute :) At the moment I can give you only clip, but photos will come soon.
At first I was little dissapointed when I tested it with two 5W speakers salvaged from old genius speakers because fuzzy distortion I hated with Ruby was still there a little (now I know it's bloody speakers), but when plugged into PC it sounded great, very clean. Exactly what I need.
This is recorded with simple line-out box I just made directly into PC sound card.

Thanks for great project,
Cheers

I'm building the Ruby (with suggested 'Bassman' mods) this weekend.  I'll be powering a 1X12 Fender gtr speaker cab with it.  I'll report when finished.

these amps are very nice ones. I made the MK2 too, much more loud than I thought it would be. I'm still looking for 4" speakers to make an minicombo for it. Where are you planning to get the speakers?

I wasn't able to hear the soundclip, the link appears to be down.

I'm using it with my 1x12" greenback cab. There's one clip on my site (link's below), but it's recorded through line out and speaker sim. I'll put new clips soon
