Do I need to reverse the polarity of the Ge diode if I do an NPN Tonebender 3 knob?

petemoore

  Reverse it from what...
Take a look at Fuzzcentrals FF's, I think they all have the diode protection.
EZ answer is you want the line on the diode to V+, but check anyway.

I'm just wondering if you flip the diode around from the standard PNP version.

If you reverse polarity on a circuit, all polarized components need to be reversed...the long way around saying don't reverse polarize polarized components.
The short way around is just look at GGG or FC FuzzFace schematics of various polarities and NPN's [disregard the PNP Pos Gnd FF...] and notice the trend of how that little line on the diode 'follow's the Red Battery clip wire, wherever it goes.
