...well I'm not even entirely sure that's the correct terminology for what I'm after.

  Hi All,

I started building pedals a month or two ago after a long lay-off (15 years) from a very brief stint (4 months) in pursuing an education in electronics.  I'm sure I don't have to tell any of you how rewarding it is to be putting these "puzzles" together as well as trying to re-teach my brain how to learn and problem solve.

To date I've tried some octaver circuits, a ring modulator circuit, some boost circuits, and of course a few fuzz circuits all with a good deal of success (as far as I'm concerned) thanks to sites like this one.  And I'm waiting for some parts to try some tremolos, an mxr 100, and a sample/hold circuit as well as some other new territory.

My question is:  can someone here point me in the right direction to start finding circuits regarding sequential stepping patterns?  Like a moogerfooger MURF or a seek-trem/seek-wah kind of a deal, if only just to try to illustrate what I'm trying to say.  Or even to point me toward the right terminology I should be looking for to do these things?  I haven't had much luck so far so I may be looking for the wrong things.

Something that would allow you to control volume (yes, or wah) through 8 sequential steps but also ways to select different patterns such as accenting or skipping certain steps.  I did come across some information on GEOFEX that I think fits in but I can't quite see how yet.

I realize this is probably putting the cart waaayyy before the horse, but it's what I'm most interested in adding to my rig at this point.

Thanks in advance for any advice and sorry for the rambling post.

There's an excellent design here, along with some very helpful, extensive notes:

You should be able to find quite a bit about this on the forum if you search for "Vanishing Point" or even just "sequencer".
