Not so much a stomp box more like a audio switcher?

Hi,

I'm building a simple audio signal routing box for my home studio, and I was wondering if some one could help me out with the wiring, because I am very new to this and a little dumb!

What I am trying to do is send one stereo signal into a box and send it out to two different amps, like a splitter.  That's simple enough but I want to add a toggle switch to each output so I can turn OFF or ON each stereo output independently. When finished I should be able to have the signal come out both outputs or one or none.

I have a very basic knowledge of the DPDT switch so I don't know how to wire them to
do what I need.

Any suggestions?

I think I have all the parts I need:
Box
2 ON/ON DPDT Switches
6 Chassis mount RCA female jacks
Wire, etc..

Stereo in >> ON/OFF >> Stereo out
                     ON/OFF >> Stereo out

Like this?

Another idea would be to use a panner pot to pan between each channel, for a balance control.

Harry,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Would that give 2 separate stereo signals out?

Ideally I would like 2 independent switches, one for each out.

Thanks
Jeff

Harry

It would be 2 seperate mono outputs. Are you sending the signals to seperate stereo amps or to seperate mono amps? The diagram is for 2 seperate switches.

Oh, sorry just re-read your post and understand that this will not be used for guitar.
So here ya go:
