Oh yeah...that's what my amp sounds like...

I accidentally stomped on my amp channel selector today and kicked in the 'Crunch' channel (Peavey XXX) - the tone captivated me long enough to diddle around with the EQ to find a SWEET setting.  Then I kicked over to the 'Ultra' channel and did the same thing - I haven't heard these tones in about 8 months (since the beginning of my DIY addiction).  Now I remember why I bought the XXX in the first place!!  My next builds will be devoted to enhance these tones that have been ignored for so long.  Maybe a simple booster...maybe a parallelyzer for multiple modulation environments...I don' t know...I feel like I just got two new REALLY awesome distorion stompers!!  Any other recommendations on enhancing new-found sweet tones?

Bottom line...don't forget to turn all the stompers off from time to time!

PS> Having said all that, I still love the Dr. Boogey and am planning to do Paul Nelson's Orange MKII as soon as someone creates a pcb layout (I might try it this week using that cool DIY Layout Creator tool that floated around recently).
