So I wanna build this erik hansen marshall valve pedal, the layout is posted in the dragonfly lounge on this very site.  It is powered by 12vdc adaptor.  I was wondering if anybody knows what would be a suitable power supply to use.  I have a 650ma 12v neg. ground adaptor for a 4 track that seems like it would work but wasn't sure if there were any guidelines I should be aware of, I've only made stuff so far that was 9v battery powered...any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated, otherwise I guess I'll take my chances and see what happens...

That power supply should work just fine.  Just make sure your caps are rated high enough for the 12 volts and to bias the JFET to 6 volts rather than 4.5.  I don't see the layout in Dragonfly's gallery.  It's in mine I know that.

BTW, it's Marsha Valve.  ;)

Ah, the tube version.  Ok.  Yeah, he's got it named incorrectly too.  I never caught that.  Maybe he'll see this and correct it.

For that version, make sure the power supply is well filtered.  His layout is unverified so if you get it working using that layout, just let him know.  I haven't simply because I don't have vero board.
