Ugh!
I'm borderline OCD as it is when it comes to organization and tidiness. Looking at that picture actually made me slightly nauseous :icon_redface:

Can you imagine the cost if someone actually bought this and planned to take it to their repair tech?!

I believe people buy this kind of stuff mainly for the iron. They get a good chassis, transformers and tube sockets. Rip out the guts, wire a neat looking board and you've got a Fender Deluxe head. It's the cheapest way I know of building tube amps.

Although I'd sure like to see the impression on the tech's face who would have to repair this thing. :icon_mrgreen:

Oh My...all locked in tight...none for me, thank you VM
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

At a closer glimpse, it doesn't look that horrible at all. The wires are kept as short as possible and some are twisted for hum reducement.

Looks like a damn good point-to-point example... even more, an etalon of PTP-wiring. :D

you buy it, recap it, decide its tubes, replace poor wiring, check for floated resistors, and everything else, then.  :o

that thing made me feel dizzy...

Good luck; and have fun with it! ::)

i love amps like that! it doesn't look that bad. if you can't figure it out or it needs hard to find tubes you just replace the PTP wiring with a fender or marshall (or whatever) board. The housing looks great if you tidy it up a bit.
here's an 18 watt mess i made (needs new transformers tough, it never workde because of those): http://sic.fotopic.net/p15788670.html
