I know you can buy the yellow inductors off this page but i saw some adjustable one at allelectronics.com
CAT# RC-676

for a much lower price and was wondering if I could use that in my circuit

my circuit...a wah pedal from scratch....just using this case

Thanks

Thats not a very sturdy casing for wahs. I used to work at Musiciansfriend for a short time and that was ALWAYS coming back broken. Not just the board but the actual rocker/casing. As far as the inductor, just break down and buy one from Aron for 15$. Im sure your time has to be worth more than messing around like that. I know cause I used to do the same thing that resulted in the same sorry results that the other members predicted. In fact, if your going to go that route, buy a trasformer from the Ratshack and use that accoring to RG.

I don't think so. I think around a 500 mili-henry is what you need. That one is only .676 micro-henry.
Check out the "Technology of Wah pedals" article and scroll down about 2/3 of the page where it says "Building a Wah From Scratch" for some alternative inductor info.

You know so far the theme of all your posts is throwing together the cheapest wah pedal possible. Sometimes saving money
can be wasting money. I suppose it is possible to use that plastic shell and buy the cheapest components and put together an
unusable piece of junk that looks like a wah pedal for about $50 total, or you could invest $100 in real parts and have something.
Obviously the choice is yours, just my 2 cents.

much as i resent to say it, lacto has a point. i am rebuilding alot of cheaply and poorly made pedals... and if i had invested in better parts in the first place, i would probably be a much happier person.

i, too, am a fan of a great deal... but a cheap deal doesn't necessarily mean a great deal!

All I really need ais a wah pedal...im still new to guitars so I don't need anything too good...just somthing to mod and learn electronics in the processes

For an inductor I have heard from this site...

http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/wahpedl/wahped.htm#ryo

...about using the blue and green wires from a radio shack audio transformer and it works well.

In the first pic of a wiring sheet, ("Basic wah circuit") that cymbal that looks like a half of a transformer cymbal at the lower middle of the circuit is the inductor, Right?

few other things, where do these arrows go to?....those grounds?

The audio jacks are mono and have 2 solder points so I can see one wire going to each jack from the wires saying "Input" and "Output"....do the other solder tabs get grounded?

As for the case from this pedal...
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/RogueWP101WahWahPedal?sku=150052

...comming back broken all the time...I'm sure I can fix it up as I do lot's of welding and metalwork and I wont be using this pedal on stage or anything...Just small home use but I'll look around for a broken better pedal and work with that if I find one.

Right, the one marked 500mH is the inductor.

Quotefew other things, where do these arrows go to?....those grounds?
Yeah, those downward pointing arrows indicate a ground connection.

Yes.
