Ropez stage switching pop

I'm building the Ropez with extra stages (24 total).  I have a 1P11T rotary switch that I am using for stage switching (4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20,22,24  :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted:)  Versatile doesn't even begin to describe it.  I could probably make Dean Ween wet his pants with this damn thing.  I have every stage connected and am simply tapping a wire at the ends of every even stage after the 4th one to the section that is between the 1mF cap going out to the recycle pot and the 27K resistor going to the output section.  It makes an annoying pop in this configuration when switched.  Would this be remedied by a pulldown-to-ground resistor right there to discharge the 1mF?  Or am I asking for a degraded signal quality?  Thanks!

Why not just have a SPDT toggle to direct the + side of that cap to either a medium-high value resistor to bleed off stored charge OR to the junction of pin 9 and the 27k mixing resistor (or whatever you have in that slot).  Tying it to the terminating resistor means you've disabled regeneration/feedback, without having to turn the Regen control and lose a desired setting.  Once you've settled on the number of stages (and you may find that a 6-position, with taps at 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, and 24,is enough after a while...but that's your call), you can switch in the cap, lifting its connection to the bleed resistor.  Keep in mind the pop is from charge being stored up.  And where does the charge come from?  Signal in the recirculation path. So, as long as you allow the signal in that cap to bleed off when the recirculation path is not in use, that switching over should not,in principle anyways, lead to audible popping.

I'll definitely post some pix (and hopefully some sound samples, too) once it is boxed up, though I have yet to move into the 1990's and get a digital camera.  I am putting it in a big institutional-looking angled LMB box (I think it is the same kind that are used for Leslie speaker speed control footswitches) together with your Corral Chorus and a Deluxe Electric Mistress.  I'm giving it to the lead guitar player in my band for use as a floor-based unit.  I have built all three on perfboard and together cho-pha-fla sounds incredibly stange.  My hat is off to both of you for all of your generous contributions and insight.  Thanks!!!
