Express PCB: adding pads to components...what the %^$&$

I've been trying to learn this program and it's been working well for me.
Here's the thing...I can't seem to add pads to component leads.
I can add pads to traces but not at the component.
Must be a setting issue but I can't find where to chage anything...
Any ideas?

In the PCB is where I was refering to... 
I figured it out with help from the search feature...duh! There is a good post under exress PCB which spells it all out and has a link to a custom component Library etc.
Sheesh!
