I've built Tim's Tripple Fuzz and it sounds very good! But.. it goes so loud! I can only open up the volume by 25%, when I think it souds best with the volume pot open at 75% or so. Cause when I connect it to my V-Amp I have to max te volume, and it sounds better than plugged into my amp at a quarter open. Is there a way to reduce the output level, by changing a component value?

Just stick a resistor in between the .1uF output cap and the volume control, and it will attenuate the maximum volume.  I'd start with a 50K.  If thats too quiet, go lower, or if its to loud, go higher.

I'm not sure of the logic here. Your comparing apple to oranges and attributing the difference to where the Tripple's volume knob is set? You can try to use a pot with a different taper, but I don't think the *o'clock* position of the volume knob is going to change the way it sounds with your amp at a given volume. If you haven't already, try the Tripple into another OD/ Distortion pedal. I like the way it works as a distortion *enhancer*.

Thanks for the replies :) Well I've seen it mentioned around here, that a FuzzFace does react and sound differently with the volume all the way open. That's also why some people find the Axis Face Silicon, which I've built recently, sounds better with a 330 or 470 ohm instead of a 1K2 resistor. More resistance here means less output, and more dial on the volume pot.

It might be my ears, but it could be that the same thing goes for the Tripple Fuzz..

Are you using an audio por for the volume?
Cut it large, and smash it into place with a hammer.
