I just recently made thishttp://aronnelson.com/gallery/album18/AMZ_MUFFMASTER_VERO
from Dragonflys layouts. and used the Milennium 1 plus N channel from Big Man
http://aronnelson.com/gallery/TheBigMan-Layouts/mb

The problem I have is that the LED works fine when the effect is on. When bypassed it stays lit, but only if the volume pot is
turned past 3/4 up. Anything below that and the LED is off. The diode is the only thing that is not the same. I used a 1n4001 instead
of the 1n914. Is that possibly my problem. Would changing the 4k7 on the Milennium to a lower value make a diference.
Thanks.

Hi Fixr,

Sounds kind of strange to me, man...have you checked for a short somewhere? Is the diode in the circuit in the correct direction?  Worst case, get some RS 914's, and throw one in there.  Should keep a packet of them around anyway, since they're so common!  It could have something to do with the 4001, but my first instinct is that you have power on the volume pot getting to the LED.  Have you tried tracking down this mystery voltage with a meter thru the circuit?  Where it's coming from might give you some clues...

Is your 9v batt. input to the board crossed with the trace below it? The volume pot seems to plug in close to it....bright light & magnifying glass!

i would try a 3pdt bypass/LED setup.  if that doesn't work, something is shorting.
