Electric Mistress: loosing bass frequencies?

I have a 9v and a 18v version of the Electric Mistress (non-deluxe).
Both sound good, but when enganged, I feel bass frequencies are lost.
Is it something you guys experience too?
Did anyone try a fix?

It could be just the flanger-effect that cuts the bass.

But you can at least double all pass-through capacitors in the audio path, you can find the schematics here.

I found that my DEM sounded better when using the neck pick up.     Maybe this is my ears way of compensating for the lack of bass?

For the 9V non-deluxe there is some bass cut up to about 50 Hz (according to the sims). Don't know for the 18V though.
