You guys will laugh I'm sure but, I added a tone control to one of my builds.
I copied the standard Telecaster tone control used by Fender for many moons.
It worked and served the purpose but, I suppose it would be considered a "hack" :icon_neutral:

Hahaha, that's actually a GREAT idea, man!  Where did you put it in the circuit eh?

I dunno about "hack", man.  Let's just give in and call it "Tele-mojo"   :icon_lol:  .

All I did was copy the tone control in the Tele.
It's a passive tone control hooked to the volume pot with a .047uF cap to ground.
It actually worked very well!

Huh, i'm about to whip up a fuzz rite (again) with mark hammer's suggestions AND your tele control, man.  Just curious, what value pot did you use eh?  250K  500K?

Man, Yun, man!

Is the Fuzzrite anything like the Maestro Fuzz-tone (<-- never could get to work)?

"man, yun, man"  <---- what was that about eh?

The maestro fuzz-Tone IS an "unforgiving" circuit, dude.  The transistors HAVE to be the EXACT original transistor, at least in my experience.
Oh it just seems you end all your sentences with, man.  :)
Anyway I just searched it and it seems the kay fuzz is an octave down wah-fuzz, so I'm guessing they're nothing alike.

I beleive I used a 25k log.
The wiring in the Tele looks like this;

I just copied what was there and put into a OD250 clone that I modded quite a bit and rather than
use the treble cap that's in the original design I incorporated the Tele tone control.
At the time I was more of a newb than I am now and I needed a way to control the highs a bit
and this is how I solved the problem.
I honestly like the way it sounds though although it is so "stupidly simple"......sorry Mark H.!!!!
Let me know how it works out for you.

so, i'm going to build my fuzz-rite like this:

Anyone have comments/suggestions to add before i do eh?

The Rosac Nu-Fuzz has a tone circuit and otherwise is very Mosrite FuzzRite.

thx for the input.
I've just made a quick test on my breadboard.  Woowwwwwwwww !!!! The tone circuit is very good. I substituted the 1nF cap from Q2 collector to lug 2 of the tone pot to a 2.2nF and the volume is even in any settings, from bass to treble.

Sir HC I believe you're a gear freak, and I presume you own both the Nu-Fuzz and the Fuzzrite. Which one is the wildest ?

Sir H C

Yep, confirmed fuzz freek.  The coolest is the Distortion Blender which is a Nu-Fuzz with an extra gain of 10 stage at the front.  It then also allows the blending of clean with the distortion.

Is my Rosac/Mosrite collection.  Love those things.
