The ones I ordered are big as my thumb.  Does anyone know a certain type (catalogue number) that run a bit smaller?

Thanks,

Jason

contact RDV, here on the forum ...i bought a bunch of them from him...theyre small, and quite reasonably priced...hopefully he still has some.

I would probably go that route but I have a few other items to get and was hoping to do some one-stop shopping if Mouser had a viable option.

The size is proprtionate to the voltage. You only need a 25 volt or less rating but usually the poly, mylar, film caps go in 50 or 100 volts if not more. Mouser doesn't have anything less than 100v in the .68uf spec I don't think.
I bought a .68 600 volt cap for an amp and it literally the size of my thumb, not just the nail!

Digikey has the panasonic caps that are 50 volts and a lot smaller...

Seriously, try RDV in the For sale/trade section. He'll set you up for a really cheap price and a buck for shipping.

I like the AVX box polyester film caps. The 0.68uF is

581-BF074D0684J (5% tolerance)
581-BF074D0684K (10%)

These are slightly wider than the normal AVX box caps. If you need caps where the lead spacing is flexible (i.e. can be wider for certain PCBs) than goto Small Bear and look at the Panasonic ECQ(E)-F series:

I'm using those same BF series AVX box caps - the fixed 5mm (.2") lead spacing comes in handy when I'm doing my own layouts, although it could be a problem when using an existing layout. Performance-wise, no complaints whatsoever!

My .68µF are really nice small 50volt Mallory Metalized Films and I've got probably 500 or so left for $.10 USD a piece with a dollar shipping. For amounts of 100 or more, I'll pay the shipping.

I've used Mouser part# DME2P68K it's a Cornell-Doublier metalized polyester film cap, lead spacing is 25mm measures 26mm wide x 12mm high x 5mm thick
