problems with slow gear. please help.

hello,
i have been fussing with the slow gear project from ggg.
i'm using a 2sk30a for the t2 and all others are 2n3904(reversed from the diagram)
the diodes are 1n4148 and the zener is a 1n752a. everything seems to be in the
right place(i've gone over it a number of times),all i'm getting is my guitar signal w/no
slow gear sounds.
could someone with a functioning slow gear please give me some voltage readings?
any other suggestions are welcome.
