QuoteHopefully, if anyone does license it, the 9v outputs will be filtered and regulated.
You'd think you wouldn't even have to mention that, but the state of the world being what it is, you do.  :)

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

QuoteAlso, you'll likely see amps start having 9V DC outputs... if they license it.

My ART SGX-2000 has a 9VDC output on it for powering other devices. I thought that was pretty forward thinking for around 1992-93.  :icon_cool:

I'd rather have a high current 12V DC output, for jump starting the truck after a cold winter gig.

;D
DIY has unpleasant realities, such as that an operating soldering iron has two ends differing markedly in the degree of comfort with which they can be grasped. - J. Smith

LOL. Can't you just plug the car into a 120VAC outlet? Or do you not have an engine block heater?  :icon_wink:

Seriously, when can we see these in stores?  I'm really excited about them now!

R.G.

Seriously, if I could tell you, I would. We're having all of the normal problems getting them manufactured, and it's making me crazy.

Are these normal manufacturing problems still making you crazy?

His Keen-ness is only just back from China within the last 24hrs and likely still sleeping off the jet lag.  He has conveyed a number of the manufacturing challenges to me, but I'll let him give you the details he sees fit.  Suffice to say that they won't show up in Mac trucks any time this week.

Oh I see.   Seems like I'm gone a few days (i keep getting sidetracked with non-stompbox projects) and I miss everything.  I didn't know that he had gone to China.

This is turning into quite the busy place!

They may use it differently, but they DO have the internet over there.  That's why no one noticed he was missing.  :icon_wink:  People here (some at least) have a knack for staying in touch despite globe-trotting.  Stephen Giles sometimes seems to commute to work from England to somewhere in South America on a daily basis!  Aron covers a fair distance from time to time too.  I *would* say that for all we know Ton Barmentloo is in New York at the moment, but with the Italy/France showdown tomorrow, and Germany only recently knocked out of competition, my guess is that he hasn't left home for the last few weeks.

Lest I give the wrong impression, the correct answer to the original question is apparently "They're coming very soon, just not in the immense quantities hoped for at the moment".  I.E., there will not be one for every Jay Turser, Samick, or other MIK/MIC guitar in existence by year's end.  But then, that was never really the goal, was it?

though Holland got thrown out earlier,
(hopefully, those Germans will beat those Portugese...)
and FRAN took this picture in a New York pizzeria before that rude match "Por-Ned 1:0",
I prefer Italian food and wine (except in the Beaujolais Primeur-season...),
but love the Tour.

Why travel?
Biz between New York, St. Petersburg and Shanghai can be done by email.

Why travel?
Holidays! Fantasia!
(just got back from Turkish sea-side... - no phone, no address, no www. ) .

puretube == French guy named Ton Barmentloo ?

Right person.  Right continent.  Wrong country.  I'll let him clear that up, though.  Incidentally, it's nice to have Ton back after a lengthy absence.  He looks happy...but then I can't remember ever seeing a picture of him where he didn't.

Puretube == Dutch guy named Ton Barmentloo, living in Germany. :icon_wink:

"French" didn't sound right, but what do I know?  :icon_redface:

I work in an organization where about 60% are French in a city where maybe 1/3 are French, but Quebec "French" names tend not to look anything like France "French" names.  Can't say that I've ever seen a Bardot, Dépardieu, Chirac, Villepin, or Zidane on this side of the ocean.  So if you can't tell the difference between a Dutch and French name, don't sweat it.  There are a lot of us who ought to be able to, in theory, and still can't.

comfortably_numb

Man-oh-man.  I was looking at these things several months back when I stumbled across them on the visual sound website.  I think had been looking at Phil Keaggy gear.  Anyway, I was coveting them then, before I ever got into DIY, now to find out the R.G. designed them?  I've gotta get one for sure!
