Hi,

A rather unusual clinic in pedal building is scheduled for this www.tonefest.com
This clinic will show live development of a circuit on breading board and soundtest through an amplifier array and discussion around components and relevance to sound et.c Circuit changes in the schematic will be shown on an overhead
This is a joint effort of BJF Electronics (me) and Paul Cochrane of Hertitage amps and TIM/Timmy pedals and Scotty of Pro Analog primarily for the benefit of young musicians in the Chicago area.

It's a clinic of fun and goodwill.

This tonefest gathers many manufactuers and many fine guitarists, musicians with a range from almost anything guitar related in a friendly environment with lots of oppurtunities to try many fine things.

I just thought I'd let this on

Thanks
BJ

Wow!! What a cool happening ! I wish I could be there.. :icon_cry: Hopefully someone takes a lots of photos + sound samples of the event.

BJ, I saw Your presentation at the Helsinki GuitarShow. Your amps and pedals are great !!

I wonder if R.G.'s amps are going to be there ?

If I just wouldn't be married with my work........

cheers,

Very cool, I didn't know about that. I'm actually getting ready to do something similar, how to clinics on modifying and building effects for several different stores. I may have to check you guys out since I live a few hours away. :)

How'd it go!!?? I know it was a little bit ago, but I wanted to go and couldn't (as was the case for a few other people it seems.) I saw some vidclips of Bjorn demoing pedals and amps that were great, but I never heard anybody who went to the pedal building seminar report back! Any reports?

Actually it turned out kind of lame!  BJ,Scotty, and myself didn't have any time to get together and talk about what to do.  We were hoping for schematics to pass out, and were told that there would be an overhead projector, but neither of those things made it.  So we ended up saying things like "we're changing this resistor in the circuit to show the effects of messing with the bias", but nobody knew what resistor we were messing with, and they couldn't see the scope traces!  There was alot of  nervous laughter on stage because we really didn't have things ready for it.  It was really cool to sit up there with BJ and Scotty, but if it happens again it's gonna need some serious homework!

I would have loved John Cusack to have a "make your own knobs" clinic myself!  The coolest thing at the show was his custom made mini chicken head knobs he makes himself!  His attention to mechanical details is just sick!!  He really knows his stuff.
